The Power of Truth — Opening of the Theme Exhibition in Commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Karl Marx

The opening ceremony of “The Power of Truth — Theme Exhibition in Commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Karl Marx” was held at the National Museum of China on the morning of May 5th. Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chief of Publicity Department of the Central Committee of CPC, attended the opening ceremony.  

“The Power of Truth — Theme Exhibition in Commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Karl Marx” was jointly sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of CPC, Central Party History and Literature Research Institute and China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and undertaken by the Compilation and Translation Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Chinese Artists Association and the National Museum of China.  

The exhibition, comprised of three parts: “The Life and Works of Marx”, “The Glorious Course of Localization of Marxism in China”, and “New Fine Art Works on Marxism”, displays over 100 pieces of precious literature of manuscripts, notebooks and original version of books bearing the personal signatures of Marx, Engels and Lenin, over 900 books of original versions, over 150 pictures, more than 70 pieces of fine art works and 6 sculptures on Marxism, presenting a panorama view of the life, revolutionary practice, theoretical contribution and spiritual realm of Marx, and showing the glorious course of spreading, application, enriching and development of Marxism in China.  

About 600 people attended the opening ceremony, including the responsible comrades of the sponsoring and undertaking entities of the exhibition, the Party School of Central Committee of CPC (Chinese Academy of Governance), Ministry of Education, the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, the Central Propaganda and Culture Entities and the Propaganda Department of Beijing Municipal Committee of CPC, representatives of all circles in Beijing and representatives from foreign exhibition lending institutions. It is informed that the exhibition will run until August 5.
