On September 26 that coincided with the eve of the 100th anniversary of the victory of the October Revolution in Russia, the Seminar on "October Revolution and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" was held in Beijing. Liu Qibao, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Secretariat of CPC Central Committee, and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and spoke at the seminar. He stressed the need to thoroughly study and carry out the gist of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches, profoundly understand the great significance and far-reaching influence of the October Revolution, and actively adhere to and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics amid new era conditions.

Liu Qibao pointed out that the October Revolution opened up a new era of human history and brought Marxism-Leninism to China. Our country and nation have undergone great changes over the past one hundred years, fundamentally because we chose the socialist road brought by the October Revolution and the CPC led the people to embark on a path for the realization of national rejuvenation by combining the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism with China's actual conditions. Today, to commemorate the October Revolution and advance along the road of socialism, we, uniting closely around the CPC Central Committee led by Xi Jinping, need to unswervingly uphold and develop Marxism, socialist and communist ideals and beliefs, and socialism with Chinese characteristics, unswervingly adhere to the CPC's strong leadership of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and unswervingly promote the noble cause of human peace and development, thereby striving to achieve the "Two Centenary Goals" and the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Leaders from central and state organs, responsible persons from provincial and municipal CPC publicity departments and academies of social sciences, and relevant experts and scholars attended the seminar.
