2017 China Global Think Tank Innovation Summit Held

  The "2017 China Global Think Tank Innovation Summit," which was jointly hosted by the Qingdao Municipal People's Government, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), and the University of Pennsylvania's Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP), was recently held in Qingdao. More than 200 people, including domestic and international think tank experts, scholars from all walks of life, and leaders from the Qingdao municipal government, had in-depth exchanges and reached a consensus around the theme of "Build High-end Think Tanks Cluster, Accelerate Regional Economic Transformation," covering such topics as "The Future of Think Tanks — Innovation for Tomorrow," "Charting A Course for Regional and Global Economies in Transitioning Times: The Role of Think Tanks," "China's Development Ideas and Global Governance — Think Tanks for the Future of Globalization," "Talent Acquisition Strategies for Transitioning Economies — The Role of Think Tanks," and "Maritime Cooperation and The One Belt One Road Initiative — New Perspectives from Think Tanks."

  The Qingdao New Think Tank Hub Building Complex, which is located in Shibei District, Qingdao, was unveiled at the summit. Shibei District signed cooperation framework agreements with CCG, DeTao Group and other think tank representatives, signed agreements with the first group of more than ten think tank programs which were introduced to Shibei District, and issued letters of appointment to think tank cluster consultants.
