Liu Qibao Attended the Thematic Session on “Think Tank Exchanges” for “Belt and Road” Forum for International Cooperation

  Liu Qibao, the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the Thematic Session on “Think Tank Exchanges” for “Belt and Road” Forum for International Cooperation and delivered a keynote speech titled “Joining Hands to Build Intelligent Silk Road”.

  Liu Qibao pointed out that the “Belt and Road” initiative has been advancing steadily, bringing investment and jobs to participating countries over 4 years since President Xi Jinping put forward. Progress and achievements have been better than expected. The pursuit of the “Belt and Road” initiative starts from win-win cooperation which is driven by market mechanism and aims to be inclusive and beneficial to all. The “Belt and Road” initiative comes from China and will produce results benefiting the world.

  Liu Qibao hopes that think tanks at home and abroad can enhance exchanges and cooperation, establish think tank alliance and cooperation network well and join hands to build “Intelligent Silk Road”. He pointed out that the pursuit of the “Belt and Road” initiative should be considered in the context of the big vision to build a community of shared future for mankind and planned on the big stage of economic globalization, studied in the big pattern of international relationship evolution and mastered in the big horizon of exchanges and mutual learning among human civilizations, thus to bring about more high-end research results and provide greater intellectual support, so that the “Belt and Road” can better benefit people all over the world.

  The Thematic Session on “Think Tank Exchanges” was hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, organized by China Center for International Economic Exchanges and attended by about 200 persons, including well-known think tank heads, former world leaders and famous experts and scholars, from more than 40 countries. Zeng Peiyan, the President of China Center for International Economic Exchanges, and other guests addressed the opening ceremony.
