On December 16, the First Summit Forum of the Think Tank Alliance of Internet Governance, which was organized by Fudan University and Sun Yat-sen University, was held in Fudan University. This forum was jointly hosted by the Center for Communication and State Governance Research of Fudan Development Institute and the Center for Internet and Governance Research of Sun Yat-sen University[CC1] , co-organized by the Fudan Journalism School, the School of Communication and Design of Sun Yat-sen University, and the Center for Information and Communication Studies of Fudan University, and guided by the Shanghai Internet Information Office. Nearly 100 guests from political, industrial and academic circles attended the forum. Persons in charge of national and local Internet Information Management Offices, research experts from more than 17 domestic Internet governance think tanks, and media and industrial elites had in-depth dialogues and exchanges concerning "Internet governance." The forum consisted of five sub-forums, discussing "Paradigm Innovation and Global Cyberspace Governance," "Public Opinion Transformation and Network Society Studies," "Digital Government and Smart City Construction" and other issues.
Experts believed that the proposal of "Internet governance" is of milestone significance. Internet governance and digital government construction will surely achieve leap-forward progress and development in the next few years, underpinning and guaranteeing the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity. Nowadays, as the Internet has become the main communication channel and platform for people, it is imperative for the government to adapt to the situation and promote the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity in the Internet era.
