Seizing the Opportunity to Advance Marxism Research

Recently (April 21), the 6th Scientific Socialism Forum of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, which was hosted by the Leading Group of Marxism Theory Discipline Building and Theoretical Research of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and organized by the Academy of Marxism of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Jiangxi Normal University, was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. The participants had discussions around the theme of "The Original Intension and Mission of the Communist Party of China and Commemoration of the Bicentenary of Marx's Birth." 

The participants held that this year marks the 200th anniversary of Marx's birth and the 170th anniversary of The Communist Manifesto. In this critical year, we should systematically review the development of Marxism and explain clearly why the Communist Party of China can achieve remarkable achievements. It is of great significance to upholding and developing Marxism in contemporary China and Marxism in the 21st century. Theorists must seize this important opportunity to further strengthen the Marxism belief and continuously deepen research in scientific socialism. In particular, they must vigorously publicize and interpret the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and continue to advance the localization, modernization and popularization of Marxism in China.
